"Shade of Night is a musing that ultimately became the Night Keep - my horror music and drama project. While always trying different styles and musical approaches, this was my first attempt at what became a passion for gothic horror symphonies and composing for various media. I will not pretend that it is not amateurish and yes, this album is very rough, but I enjoy the honesty - the sincerity - of this album, and every year, when the season changes to Autumn, I like to listen to it, as it makes me think of the Halloween season. I hope this album can do that for others, as well."

"I took the album down for myriad reasons, notably that I was embarrassed by the poor production and amateurish stylings, all while naively going around trying to pass myself as a composer. I cringe when I listen to this album - still do - but I am not hiding who I am or what I have done. This is my album, this is my music. It was the best i could do at the time, and I will get better."
